Brenda Ulrich is presenting two programs at the June 2024 Textbook & Academic Authors Association (TAA) Conference. Both programs are educational sessions covering copyrights and publishing contracts.  Her two programs include:

  • Whose Copyright is it Anyway?

Brenda breaks down this complex topic into two sections with plenty of room for asking questions to a myriad of intellectual property concerns related to copyrights.  The first section will begin with answers to questions such as “who owns my teaching materials” and “what content can I use in my teaching materials without violating copyright laws”, among others.  The second section of the discussion will cover generative AI covering questions such as “who owns the content I put into GenAI search engines” and “can my publisher use my book to train AI,” among others.

  • Top 10 Tips for Publishing Contract Negotiations

In this program, Brenda will walk through actionable steps authors can do to set themselves up for success with their publishing contracts and will share best practices on negotiating with publishers.
